PCB Discrete Library management

Hi Folks,

What is the best way to standardize discrete footprints.

Like 0402,0603,0805 and So on...

Different vendors recommend footprints which are slightly different.

Even Calculators based on IPC7351 generates footprints based on the component dimension that gets entered.

Since the footprint name is common in the board for various vendors devices i am finding it difficult conclude the Land pattern.
