Through the IPC-2581 Consortium, many companies across the PCB design and supply chain are working together to support the IPC-2581 format. Today, Cadence Allegro PCB Designer (v16.5 and 16.6 ) and Zuken CR-5000 Board Designer already support the output of IPC-2581, and software tools from ADIVA, DownStream and WISE read IPC-2581 to verify and prepare designs for manufacturing.
The IPC-2581 Consortium has more than 35 members and continues to grow. The members of the consortium are working together to validate the format and collaborate with IPC to continue enhancing it based on member feedback. We recently fabricated a complex, high-speed 12 layer optical plug-in module from Fujitsu Networks that saved 30% in fabrication preparation time!
